Just like in the first part of STYLEFILE BLACKBOOK.SESSIONS, in the second part the author and also writer, Markus Christl, has put his interest again into the pre-stage of the actual sprayed works.
From sketches to scribbles over completely finished styles, BLACKBOOK.SESSIONS.#01 showed what only few books did before. Contents from the sanctum of every writer, the blackbook, are not only coveted, but also redoubtable, because here you might see your strengths aswell as the weaknesses of your own skills. What caused a sensation at that time and produced a lot of international interest, will now find a successior: in STYLEFILE BLACKBOOK.SESSIONS.#02 Markus Christl is again devoted to graffiti on paper.
Many very personal views of letter construction from different writers can be shown this way. This would never be possible with a piece on the wall or train.
The different starting points of the presented works show the manifoldness and the creative potential of today’s graffiti culture. Already during his preparatory work, Markus Christl set a high value on BLACKBOOK.SESSIONS.#02 being an endorsement to #01. Neo Utopia - The Art and work Publikat Publishing book

SuperBlast lives and works as a freelance graphic designer in Berlin. He puts his main emphases on graphic art, illustration and typography, in the fields of lifestyle and culture. His focus lies on the interface between art and commerce.

Already in early years his artwork got seminally influenced by Hip Hop, Punk Rock, Skateboard and Comic culture. The interest in different international forms of culture as well as divers sub-cultural influences add an exceptional perspective to his works.

The Heidelberg-born SuperBlast began his graffiti career in his hometown in the late ’80s, with a very own interpretation of the classic New York style. Out of his preference for fonts, forms and colors his current field of work developed naturally.
Here he can already show an impressive quantity of works, for example the collaborations with well-known brands, artists and projects, such as Ecko Unltd., Sony Playstation Portable, Nokia Nseries, Völkl Snowboards, Montana Cans, Upper Playground. With WK Interact, Jay1 and Skki he participated in a limited edition t-shirt project by Ecko Function and also got recruited as art director for the Sony Playstation Portable Street campaign in Berlin. His works have been published amongst others in Backjumps, Faesthetics, Lodown.com and the video game Marc Ecko’s “Getting Up”.

He shows his free works in solo and group exhibitions, as well as in the streets.

“Neo Utopias – The Art & Work of SuperBlast” shows on 160 pages a selection of his works in the fields of graphic design, graffiti writing and art as an extract of his producing.
